A special service was held on the evening of Sunday 6th September to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain to pay tribute to those airmen who played their part in this historic action.
Prayers, poems, music and an extract from Winston Churchill's speech 'The Few' were included in the service and the Last Post was played by a visiting bugler.
The church was decorated in a red white and blue theme and the event was coverd by BBC Spotlight.
On Tuesday 8th September an Exhibition of photographs, letters and personal memorababilia was organised in the Village Hall by George Bright and Michael Ford. Many of the exhibits were provided by local historian Robin Gilbert.
The display took place in conjunction with a Royal British Legion Coffee Morning, where a great many tasty goodies had been provided.
